School board
The Churchill County School District Board of Trustees held their first monthly meeting on Thursday evening.
The board approved the following items:
Approved a change to the design contract with Van Woert Bigotti Architects of Reno in the amount of $91,850 for additional design services at E.C. Best Elementary School to renovate restrooms, sidewalks and asphalt paving.
Approved a contract with Tate Snyder Kimsey Architects of Reno in the approximate amount of $9,600 for design services at Numa Elementary School to create a controlled access front entrance.
Approved action to accept the Fiscal Year 2014 amended budget.
County Commission
The second County Commission meeting of December will be conducted today at 1:15 a.m. at the Churchill County Administration Building chambers, 155 N. Taylor St.
Among the items commissioners will discuss and that are up for possible actions include the following:
Public Hearing-Consideration and possible action regarding final discussion, ranking and approval for application to be submitted for the Nevada State CDBG Fiscal Year 2015 funding opportunity.
Consideration and possible action regarding recognition of Churchill County employees for years of service to Churchill County.
Consideration and possible action regarding update of current activities, plans or actions related to the Carson City District of the Bureau of Land Management.
Consideration and possible action regarding acknowledgement of recordation of a conservation easement on property owned by Zoanne Clark at 5250 Testolin Road, assessor’s parcel number 006-791-25, and authorization for issuance of TDR certificates to Churchill County.
New business
Consideration and possible action regarding thank you letters to Nevada’s congressional delegation for support off full funding of the Payment-in-Lieu-of-Taxes (PILT) Program and letters to the Nevada Senators requesting assistance in obtaining full funding of PILT.
Consideration and possible action regarding resolution 36-2013 establishing the travel expense allowance for Churchill County.
