Nevada to host 66th annual state governments meeting

The Nevada Legislature will host the 66th annual Council of State Governments West meeting next week at the MGM Mirage in Las Vegas.

The conference will run from Tuesday through Friday of next week and is expected to draw lawmakers from 13 western states as well as from the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta and Mexican border states.

A spokesman said some 600 attendees are expected to hear presentations on how different states are handling issues ranging from health care to energy and public lands, education, fiscal affairs and water issues.
