Fallon’s lone college seniors competing in the national rodeo couldn’t make the cut for finals last week in Wyoming.
Olie Fowler missed the top 12 in goat tying while Bailey Corkill fell short in team roping at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo., last week. Both cowgirls, who competed with Fallon in high school, ended their four-year careers with UNLV as two of the school’s most consistent competitors.
Fowler was the goat tying champ in the region this season while Corkill has flirted with all-around cowgirl honors for the country.
But during the CNFR, both had a tough time trying to get to the final round.
Corkill finished 21st with times of 14.4 and 7.2 seconds, including a no score. The team roping champs averaged 6.3 seconds per round.
In the smaller arena, Fowler’s times in goat tying escalated slowly with each round. She started with a 7.3 in the first round and then finished with 7.9 and 8.0. The winner averaged 6.2 per round.
