Beer, Brats and Ballet will bring together a casual atmosphere and cutting-edge choreography at the Brewery Arts Center on Saturday evening, June 29.

The BAC is collaborating with Sierra Nevada Ballet to produce the 7:30 p.m. event that final Saturday in June, which is modeled after the Sacramento Ballet’s successful annual tradition called Beer and Ballet.

Carson City’s version will offer the audience a chance to sample local brews and sausages while enjoying new choreographic offerings by West Coast choreographers.

Cost for the evening is $25 for floor seating with a beer and brat, $20 for general seating plus a beer and brat, and $15 for attending but foregoing the food and libation.

Tickets are available from the BAC at www.breweryarts.org or by calling (775) 883-1976.

Included on the dance bill of fare will be two new works by Sacramento Ballet/Sierra Nevada Ballet artist Alexander Biber.

In addition, there will be a new work by Barbara Land, former director of dance at the University of Nevada, Reno, and the new “Bach Bites” by Rosine Bena, Sierra Nevada Ballet’s artistic director.

Audience members also will hear first hand about the creative process of choreographic artists and then enjoy each new choreographic work.

Additional information on Sierra Nevada Ballet, Northern Nevada’s only professional ballet company, is available at sierranevadaballet.org.
