The Fallon Force 12-and-under softball team placed second at the Incline Amateur Softball Association tournament last weekend.

On Saturday, the Force fell to the Nevada Lady Aces, 9-4, and then to the Nevada Lightning, 8-2.

Fallon, though, dropped the Stockton Mayhem Elite (Calif.), 6-1, in the third game. Fallon finished pool play as the fifth seed out of six teams going into Sunday’s tournament slate.

On Sunday, Fallon slipped past the Auburn Storm (Calif.), 9-8, and ran past the Nevada Comets, 9-4, in the second game.

In the championship game against the Nevada Lady Aces, the Force lost a heartbreaker 8-7. The Aces rallied from a 7-5 deficit in the final inning to claim the title.

“Our girls have improved 100 percent and are now competing at a very high level,” coach Karl Buckmaster said.

The Force take the field this weekend in Reno in another ASA tournament.
