The Churchill County Pool’s summer program continues its drive.

Pool activities are ongoing and on Monday, the county is adding a Aqua Zumba class for a three-week session. It runs from Monday through July 19 each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:30 a.m. to noon.

Admission is $10 per class and space is limited.

In addition, wave classes are offered to help maintain a strong body and reach fitness goals using the benefits of water. These water exercise classes improve the body’s endurance, strength, flexibility and coordination using the therapeutic benefits of water. Classes cost $5 for a drop-in or $22 for eight sessions.

The rising wave program starts at 6 a.m. and showcases deep water sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays and shallow water classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The active wave class, meanwhile, begins at 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. with shallow water classes on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. The deep wave class runs at 8:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Water In Motion, the new wave in aqua exercise, is coming to the pool July 22nd. Classes are offered Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at noon and Saturdays at 11 a.m.

Swim lessons in conjunction with the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program start July 8. Classes are 30 minutes long and run two weeks. Parent and Me classes and Levels 1-3 are offered at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Preschool Aqua and Levels 4-6 are offered at 10:35 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The final session starts July 29. The cost is $30.

The pool also offers stroke performance training during lap swim for teens and adults on Tuesday and Thursday nights, 6-7 p.m. this summer. It is an opportunity to learn how to swim better, increase endurance, pump up an existing workout or prepare for a competitive event. Workouts are provided and a swim coach is available on-site for lap swim prices.

The Take Away the Aches program dives in on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:45 a.m. These classes increase flexibility, strength and coordination with low impact exercise to improve your daily living.

This class is excellent for people just beginning an exercise program or people dealing with limited motion, diabetes and arthritis. All ability levels and non-swimmers are welcome. Classes are $3 for drop-in or $22 for eight classes.
