CCSD trustees to meet Thursday

The 2013-14 fiscal year budget and possible reorganization of the Transportation Department will be considered Thursday night when the Churchill County School District Board of Trustees hold a regularly scheduled meeting at the district administration office, 690 S. Maine St.

Trustees will discuss or take action on the following items:

Hear an update regarding the West End Project.

Hear a presentation from CCHS Principal Kevin Lords and Athletic Director Brad Daum regarding the process to hire and evaluate coaches.

Susan VanPatten will present a request for funding for the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) trip.

Consider approval of a contract to United Construction Company of Reno in the amount of $3,081,906 for renovation of the Minnie P. Blair building at CCHS.

Award a contract for construction of improvements at Numa Elementary School.

Approve a change order for design services to Lumos & Associates on a site improvements project at Numa Elementary School in the amount of $11,920 to perform construction administration services.

Consider approval of Policy 4830 regarding unrepresented employees.

Phyllys Dowd, director of Business Services, will give a presentation of the 2013-14 fiscal year budget with recommendations from the Budget Committee. Trustees may take action to increase or decrease any line items of the entire budget.

Workers’ Compensation regarding a safety plan, rates and other options for coverage.

Hear a “Bullying on the Bus” report from Steve Russell, director of Transportation.

Russell will give a report on proposed reorganization of the Transportation Department which could include reductions in force.
