CARSON CITY — In its first state appearance in 14 years, the Fallon girls team puts its best foot forward.

The Lady Wave took fourth at the Division I-A state swim meet with 46 points behind state champ Boulder City (193), Truckee (97) and South Tahoe (56).

The boys team, represented by Keith and Kyle Grimes, tallied seven points as Fallon placed 14th. Boulder City also won the boys crown with 191 points followed by Truckee (96).

The Lady Wave’s best performance came in the 200-yard freestyle when Alex Lynch, Lyndsey Thurston, Tina Anderson and Sam Martin placed second with a time of 1 minute, 52.52 seconds. In the 200 medley relay, the same squad placed fourth with a mark of 2:08.87.

Individually, though, Martin took third in the 200 individual medley (2:19.88) and was fourth in the 100 butterfly (1:04.78).

Lynch, meanwhile, took fifth in 100 free (59.86) and sixth in the 200 free (2:09.72). Thurston added a pair of seventh-place finishes in the 50 free (28.69) and 100 free (1:02.75).

On the boys side, Keith Grimes took fifth in 50 free (23.73) and seventh in 100 free (52.40). His younger brother, Kyle Grimes, placed eighth in 100 back (1:06.38).
