RENO — Jace Zampirro and John Holton combined on a 3-hitter, and Chase Blueberg collected three hits to lead the Carson Blue Jays to a 10-0 win over the Reno A’s on Thursday at Bishop Manogue.

The win evened Carson’s summer record at 4-4 heading into tonight’s game (5 p.m.) at McQueen. On Saturday, nine Carson players will participate in Junior and Senior all-star games at Reno High. The juniors will play a seven-inning game, while the seniors will play nine innings.

Zampirro was sharp, allowing just one hit and throwing only 23 pitches in his three inning stint. Holton allowed two hits in his three innings of work.

The duo got plenty of offensive support, as the Blue Jays scored three in the first, three in the second, one in the third, two in the fourth and one in the sixth.

“We hit the ball very well,” said Carson coach Bryan Manoukian. “We did a lot of good situational hitting, moving runners over and putting the ball in play.”

Dustin Dutcher and Dom Norton complemented Blueberg with two hits apiece. Zampirro and Holton added a hit each.

Manoukian lauded the play of shortstop Gehrig Tucker, who handled seven chances without an error.
