Obituary: Samuel Thomas Brady

1939 - October 27, 2013

Born in Reno at Washoe Medical Center in 1939 to Bud and Alva of Carson City.

Sam was the 4th generation born in Carson City since the 1840s. He grew up in Carson across from the legislature. He worked for Austin’s Market when he was 15 years old. He graduated from Carson High School, joining the US Marine Corp. from 1957 - 1965 as a Staff Sergeant.

He married Kay. They owned and operated Sierra Bakery in Carson.

Later Sam worked for Safeway at the bakery. Sam was a member of the Nevada National Guard and was the Fire Chief for Mound House. Sam was predeceased by brother, Stan Peters.

Sam passed away peacefully at home with his wife and son, Steve at his side.

The family would like to thank Saint Mary’s Hospice and nurse, Ellen. A private service will be held at a later date.
