Banquet raises more than $27,000

The Nevada Day Governor’s Banquet at the Grand Sierra Resort raised more than $27,000 for The Children’s Cabinet of Nevada, organizers say.

According to a news release:

More than 500 people attended the banquet, held Oct. 24. The late Gov. Kenny Guinn and Sen. Bill Raggio were honored. Dema Guinn and her family and Dale Raggio received a standing ovation from the crowd after the tribute.

The next Governor’s Banquet is set for Oct. 30, 2014, and will benefit The Boys & Girls Club.
