Lynda passed away at her home in Gardnerville on October 28th, 2013 after a 2 year battle with Leukemia. She was born to the late Lorraine and Carl Spanner on December 23, 1943 in Greeley, Colorado. Lynda achieved her Bachelors degree in Business from Sacramento State University, worked for Sierra Pacific Power Company, and retired from the Douglas County Planning office after 23 years. Lynda is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, William Teglia; four children, Laura, Chris, Bryan, Tammy; ten grandchildren, Ivy, Hannah, Athena, Kristy, Jessie, Nick, Annie, Justin, Wyatt, Kevin; and devoted generations of loving family and friends.
Lynda’s extraordinary soul, kind heart, and unconditional love were an inspiration to for her family, friends, and coworkers. Lynda cherished every moment of her life with her husband and family, found passion in cultivating her beautiful garden and yard, and filled her home with the warmest love, compassion, and the largest collection of teddy bears one has ever seen.
The family would like to thank St. Mary’s Hospital Oncology Department, Alpine Hematology, Carson Tahoe Infusion, and a special thanks to all of the wonderful caregivers and patients at Carson Valley Infusion Center, where you could find Lynda inspiring nurses and mentoring other patients. Lynda lived her life to the fullest and will be forever missed, but the world and the heavens are better places from having her here 69 wonderful years. We love you.
