Feb. 17, 1926 - Oct. 3, 2013

Lorraine Joan Pepi, 87, of Carson City, Nevada died October 3, 2013 surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lorraine was born on February 17, 1926 in San Francisco, California to Italian immigrant parents Achille and Vincenza Le Piane. She graduated from Balboa High School in 1944. In 1948 she married Albert Louis Pepi. They lived in San Francisco, Caster Valley and Alamo, California and Gardnerville, Nevada. After Al’s passing on October 5, 1993, Lorraine moved to Carson City. Together they raised five children and were energetically involved in their children’s activities. Lorraine’s involvement in the Contra Costa County Tassajara 4-H club was extensive. She served in many roles for the club and committed countless hours to contribute to the club’s success during the 1970s.

Lorraine worked miscellaneous jobs while raising her family but primarily committed her time and energy to raising her children and homemaking. Spending time with family and friends gave her great joy. Lorraine unabashedly claimed that her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were all special and above average looking. She often expressed that she was grateful for such a big family and so many wonderful friends.

Lorraine thanked God daily for her care giver and grandson Sean. With Sean’s care Lorraine was able to remain living in her home, and for this she was immeasurably grateful.

Our family is grateful for the devotion of Robert and Sharon Booth to our mother. She adored these two caring and loving people.

Survivors include her sons, Gene Pepi, San Francisco, California; Joe Pepi ( Mary), South Lake Tahoe, California; Ray and wife, Laurie, Truckee, California; daughters, Rita Pepi, Reno, Nevada, Jackie Pepi-Marshall and husband Dan, Seward, Alaska; grandsons, Raphael, Sean, Bradley and wife Jackie, Robert, Jacob, Louis and Michael ; and great granddaughters, Madelaine, Christiana, and Marina; and great grandson, Damien.

A celebration of Lorraine’s life will take place on Saturday, November, 16 at 11am. Location: 2601 College Pkwy-Carson City, Nevada - Community hall at Comstock Mobile Home Village. A reception of food and fellowship will follow.
