Jan. 8, 1932 - Aug. 23, 2013
Earl “Bud” Kilgore a long time resident of Carson City passed away at home at the age of 81, August 23, 2013.
Bud was born January 8, 1932 in Pomona, CA. to the late James and Henrietta Kilgore whom also had moved to Carson City from Pomona, CA. He graduated from Pomona High School and then served in the Korean War as a Sergeant First Class in the army. Bud was there when the armistice was signed July 27, 1953 and helped with the DMZ line. After returning home he married and had three children, Kerry Kilgore, Pam Perondi and Jamie Holmes with his former wife, Sandy Castor all of Carson City. He is survived by all of them including eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Bud retired from work as a machinist, and he could make anything and everything. His passion besides fishing and hunting was to restore cars. He restored five cars/trucks and they were his prized possessions. “Don’t touch the cars,” were his words to all.
Bud had many friends from Carson City to Pomona, all of which continued to call him weekly. He was truly blessed with his friends and family.
We want to give a special thank you to St. Mary’s Hospice, especially Ellen O’Malley who helped dad and us through his time of need.
We love you dad and you will be missed, above all we promise not to slam the doors on our cars.
A memorial gathering will take place on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at noon, Gene Green’s House, 429 Arrowhead Dr., Carson City.
