Robert Paul “Bob” Boese, 91, son of Frank and Francis Kraft Boese died at the VA hospital in Reno on Sunday. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his ten brothers and sisters. Bob loved Nevada and lived in Pioche, Reno, Las Vegas, Elko and Carson City. Bob served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and then

graduated with an education degree from the University of Nevada in Reno. He enjoyed a long and distinguished career teaching. He was athletic and followed sports generally and the Nevada Wolf Pack specifically. he also coached sports and enjoyed considerable success with many youth teams. Most can remember a teacher or two that impacted their lives for the better. Bob was such a teacher to many. Bob’s hobby was magic and he entertained classes, civic

groups, hospital patients and at family and other gatherings. In retirement he served as a Greeter at Carl’s Jr in Carson where his personality and his tricks worked their magic. As a consequence this teacher, coach,

entertainer and member of the Greatest Generation will be remembered and missed by many in Carson City and beyond as the charismatic “Magic Bob.”Non-denominational Memorial Services will be held at noon on Saturday, April 12, at the LDS Church at 1331 McKay Drive in Carson City. Like Bob, the service will be informal and friends are invited.
