Jennifer Dalton, the former Carson High teacher convicted of sexual conduct with a 17-yearr-old student, was denied parole this week.

Dalton, 36, pleaded guilty to the charge, which does not accuse her of intercourse with the student.

She has been in the woman’s prison in North Las Vegas since sentencing.

Board Chairman Connie Bisbee said Dalton was “denied to expiration.”

That means Dalton must serve out the rest of her sentence and won’t be released until Jan. 11, 2015.

Because of the nature of the charge, Carson School District terminated her and the state revoked her teaching credentials.

The incident was described by the other teacher who witnesses them in a closed classroom as “hugging and kissing.”

At her July 30 hearing, she said she was under stress and had been taking prescription anti-depressants and anxiety medicine.

“I don’t know how those affected me,” she told the three member parole panel who reviewed her case.
