The free in-the-park concert Saturday evening will feature Billy Joe and The Dusty 45s, one of Seattle’s favorite bands, named Best of Seattle three years in a row.

They cover a range of music from rock milestones such as the classic Dick Dale tune “Miserlou” to “The Lonely Bull” mixing in some twangy country, Dixieland and other genres. The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. on the Centennial Stage in Oats Park and promises to be a rockin’ good time.

So plan on getting together with family and friends for an evening of great music under the stars. You can bring your own picnic supper and the Fallon Youth Club will have food and beverages for sale in the park beginning at 5 p.m. The Art Center’s galleries and bar will be open after the show and there will be two new exhibitions on view.

The Classroom Gallery will feature “Dancing on Mystery’s Horizon,” large format panoramic photographs of Nevada landscapes by Stephen Chandler.

In the E.L. Wiegand Gallery you’ll have a chance to view “Odd Encounters: Scenes from the New World,” a selection of paintings and prints by Montana artist Robert Royhl.

For information on the concert and exhibitions, call Churchill Arts at 775-423-1440.

The Arts Council’s new brochure on its 2014–2015 programs and activities will also be available at the Art Center that evening.

There are also a number of other events going on in celebration of Nevada sesquicentennial birthday.

The Downtown Merchant’s Association will be sponsoring a farmer’s market from 7 a.m.-noon in the lot next to the Churchill County Library. For more information on the market, contact Jo Petteruti at Jo’s Stillwater Tea Room at 775-217-9516.

Other events going on that day include a community “all classes” reunion which will include tours of the old high school from 1-4 p.m. and tours of the Art Center from 2-6 p.m. To sign up for the reunion or for more information you can email communityreunionfallon@gmail.com

The city of Fallon’s Live Local program will culminate with the grand prize car raffle for a chance to win a new car. This will happen at 6:45 p.m. on the Centennial Stage prior to the start of the concert.

For more information on this you can call Fallon Convention & Tourism at 775-423-4556.
