Barbara passed away on November 22nd after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Barbara was born on November 24th in San Francisco Ca. to Peter and Eva Barsotti.  The family moved to Sacramento when she was a young girl. She met the love of her life when she was in high school and married Carl Fred Bernhard Jr. on June 20th, 1959. They lived in Sacramento on San Joaquin St. surrounded by many of Barbara’s relatives. She had two children while there, Christopher and Michael, before the family moved to Carson City in 1969. Barbara worked the family business for a long time while also raising both her sons, and later in life helping to raise her beloved grandson Peter. When Peter was in elementary school she volunteered in his class room which led to working for the Carson City school district for over 10 years as an administrative assistant. She was a long time member of the Obsolete Iron car club as well as the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, holding numerous positions in both organizations. Barbara is survived by her husband Fred, her sons Chris and Mike, her grandson Peter, her brother Ernest (Ida) Barsotti in Sacramento, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Our family would like to thank everyone who helped for their tremendous support through this trying time. Barbara was a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed by her family and all those she touched during her life. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be announced in the future.
