Led by Tyler Lethcoe, Dustin Floyd and Chris Baird, the Carson High bowling squad knocked off Reed, 30-15, in the regular-season finale.
Lethoe rolled a 279 and 706, Floyd had a 232 and 599 and Baird had a 226 and 596. Conlin Herrick had a 204-588, Alec Fletcher 226-586, Jacob Zumbro 226-577, Skylar Belcher 213-5578, Garrett Nicholson 184-517, Nicko Chotisin 183-510, Billy Myer 207-505 and Samantha Hinton 181-505.
Aces holding auditions
for anthem singers
RENO — The Reno Aces will hold auditions for performers to sing the National Anthem this season at Aces Ballpark on March 8, the organization announced today.
Auditions will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the 250 Lounge in the Freight House District.
The Aces will be searching for candidates to perform at all 72 home games this season. Interested candidates can sign up now by emailing Kaitlin Haugen at khaugen@renoaces.com. Auditions will be limited to the first 40 people. If fans do not make it on to the audition list, they can email an audio or video submission.
The Aces kick off the 2014 season at home on April 3 by hosting the El Paso Chihuahuas, the newest Pacific Coast League franchise. Silver Oak men’s club
is seeking members
Memberships are available for the 2014 season for the Silver Oak Sunday Men’s Club. Application may be obtained online at the Silver Oak Golf website www.silveroakgolf.com or at the Silver Oak Pro Shop, 1251 Country Club Dr. The club has 31 weekly tournaments with alternating formats each Sunday morning starting on March 23. The early bird membership fee is $55 until March 1 and then $65 thereafter.
The membership fee includes NNGA membership for 2014, reduced $35 green fees, optional buy-in into weekly gross and net skins game, discounts in the pro shop, complementary range balls before your round, and an awards banquet at the end of the golf season. Members compete each week to accumulate points via a Fed-Ex points system with the winners being awarded prizes at the end of the season. Two Sundays are scheduled to travel out-of-town to play at a quality course. Also, various qualifying events during the season provide an opportunity to represent the Silver Oak Men’s Club at the NNGA 6-Man Tournament at the end of the season. All Sunday events are separated into flights based on handicaps allowing everyone a chance to win.

Carson skiers compete
at state event
Carson High skiers Erna Knoebel and Charles Hersey competed in the giant slalom and slalom Monday at Squaw Valley.
Knoebel was 13th in the giant slalom and didn’t finish her slalom run. Hersey was 24th in the giant slalom and 22nd in the slalom.
On Tuesday, Knoebel took fourth in the individual dual-race at Alpine Meadows behind South Tahoe’s Mia Bickert, Whittell’s Michael Gardner and Truckee’s Cheyenne Brown.
Douglas’ Grant Dunkleman was second on the boys side.
