The second County Commission meeting of January will be conducted today at 1:15 p.m. at the Churchill County Administration Building chambers, 155 N. Taylor St.
Among the items commissioners will consider are the following:
Consideration and possible action regarding an update of current activities, plans, or actions related to the Carson City District of the Bureau of Land Management.
Consideration and possible action regarding a presentation and overview of the State of Nevada’s involvement in various sage-grouse activities.
Consideration and possible action regarding Churchill County’s comments on the Nevada and Northeastern California Greater Sage-Grouse Draft Land Use Plan Amendment and Environmental Impact Statement.
Consideration and possible action regarding an update on 2013 Point in Time Homeless Count and upcoming 2014 count.
Consideration and possible action regarding annual report from State of Nevada, Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Child and Family Services.
Consideration and possible action regarding acceptance to proceed with development of Churchill County CASA program membership and program development, subject to award of grant funding.

Consideration and possible action regarding agreement with SESAC to permit use of musical performances during county related activities.
Consideration and possible action regarding approval of a professional services agreement with GEM Consulting for the provision of lobbying services to Churchill County for the period of Jan.1, 2014 through Dec. 31, 2014
Consideration and possible action regarding appointment of members to the Churchill County Board of Equalization (BOE), selection of a Chairman and Vice-Chairman and appointment of an alternate BOE member.
Consideration and possible action regarding appointment to the Churchill County Planning Commission.
Consideration and possible action regarding discussion concerning Draft Bill (Sens. Reid and Heller) to provide for the protection of Sage-Grouse habitat and for other purposes.
