Holt to compete in state National American Miss pageant

Carson City resident Audrie Holt, 16, has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss pageant in Las Vegas on Saturday.

The pageant program is based on inner beauty, as well as poise and presentation. Emphasis is put on the importance of developing self confidence, learning good sportsmanship as well as achieving personal goals.

Girls younger than 12 are not allowed to wear makeup, and there is no swimsuit competition.

Audrie’s activities include helping others, volunteer work, babysitting, soccer and cheerleading.

The winner will receive $1,000 and air transportation to compete in the national pageant in California.
