UNR gets federal grant to improve water management

The University of Nevada, Reno will get $1,841,833 from the National Science Foundation to develop a framework for water management and supply in the Truckee-Carson river system.

“With yet another year of drought, Northern Nevada needs the tools the better predict and protect it’s water supplies,” said Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev.

He said the project will give the area a tool to better manage and conserve its limited water supplies.

He said the project could transform water management in Northern Nevada.
