ELECTED OFFICIALS STAND BEHIND US

I was at the June 5 meeting of the Churchill County commissioners when Joseph Seidlitz, the new manager for the Winnemucca District of the BLM, introduced himself and reported on what was happening in the district. The commissioners asked some pretty good questions of him and as expected he gave some party-line answers. One of the questions dealt with the sage grouse; how were plans going to put it on the endangered list?

Mr. Seidlitz was quick to say no one wanted to list the bird as endangered. That tripped my trigger and during the period for public comment I told him, as directly as I could, “Don’t come in here and tell us stuff like no one wants to put the sage grouse on the endangered list.”

I reminded him that there are evil people in the Interior Department and its various agencies and eviler people pulling their strings ... people who use the Endangered Species Act to further the goals of Agenda 21, which include denying private citizens the use of public lands.

Mr. Seidlitz may be a decent fellow, but that’s hard to accept when one considers that his superiors were appointed by the current administration and they are expected to follow the administration’s agenda, which it to fundamentally transform America. A rogue manager would be very unusual.

His boss at the BLM, Neil Kronze, was hand-picked after years of liberal training under the tutelage of Harry Reid, who called the opponents of the recent BLM drive against the Bundy family domestic terrorists.

Thank goodness we have elected officials in Churchill County who will watch our backs when it comes to dealing with federal bureaucrats.
