Bench battle returns to CCHS

The second annual Battle of the Bench returns to Churchill County High School’s Grad Nite.

The event lifts off at 6 p.m. May 22 at the CCHS weight room inside the Elmo Dericco Gym. Teams consist of four people and the cost is $15 per person.

Those who register by May 16 receive a free T-shirt. Sponsorships are $35 and can be secured through Alan Kalt at 775-427-5272 or at kalt9arrows@gmail.com. Sponsorships must be reserved by May 14.

Four nab wins at Rattlesnake

Steve Eisele, Scott Tenney, Pete Olsen and Cory Sample all took home wins Saturday at Rattlesnake Raceway.

Eisele won the GenX division followed by Jeremy Christen, Christy Rasmussen and Lee Ketten Jr. In the Hobby Stock class, Tenney picked up the win followed by Chris Christiano, Mikke Beachat and Shane Crazel.

Olsen captured the win in Sport Mods finished ahead of Mike Olsen, Zach Cali and Tim Wearin. Sample took first in the IMCA class followed by David Ausano, Lee Bosch and Alex Childs.


Mother’s get week of swimming at pool

The Churchill County Pool is hosting a Mother’s Week during open swim May 12, 14 and 16 from 3:30-5:45 p.m. Moms swim free with child admission.

In addition, the pool is offering five American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim summer swimming lesson sessions. Summer Swim Lesson registration is now available for $30 a session.
