They were moving the Methodist parsonage some yards nearer the church. Someone had purchased the north half of the block and was building a handsome residence there. The good Parson told us that it was the intention to build on a main structure in front of the old parsonage building — the money obtained from the sale of the said north half would be wisely applied for that purpose.

Soon after the crew of a barrage balloon in East Anglia sent up a balloon, they noticed that Tibs, their pet black cat, was missing. When the balloon was hauled down later after 21 hours, they found Tibs curled up asleep in a comfortable silken balloon pocket.
