The Fallon Convention and Tourism Authority approved several grants at its last meeting including one for the Country Fair.
The Fallon Convention and Tourism Authority met recently and approved and/or tabled the following grants:
Approved Cowboy Fast Draw grant. The FCTA awarded $14,000 to the annual event that draws more than 350 participants and 3,000 spectators. The event will include 250 main match competitors, 50 Civil War re-enactors, 20 cowboy mounted shooters, 20 Nevada gunslingers and 40 vendors and staff.
Approved a grant for the Country Fair and Ranch Hand Rodeo. The FCTA awarded $6,000 to the annual event that will last three days and is a designated Nevada 150 event. There will be agricultural and cultural education provided, live entertainment, exhibits, hands on demonstrations, a photo show, old time fair activities including contests for quilters, canning, cooking, etc.
Tabled Fallon Trap Club due to representatives from the organization not able to attend the meeting.
Tabled LivFast Motocross Race due to representatives from the organization not able to make attend the meeting.
