With a pair of trophies its third state title in four years, the Fallon softball team is still cleaning up.
Rileigh Ricken and Megan McCormick were named first-team all state. Ricken, though, was edged out by Fernley’s Serena Olson for the Northern Division I-A’s Most Valuable Player.
The all-state accolades don’t stop there, however. Paige Thorn (outfield) was named to the second team. The trio was also selected to the league’s first team.
Fallon softball coach Bill Archer, meanwhile, was named the state and league’s Coach of the Year.
Ali Tedford (infield), Courtney Cross (outfield) and Kayla Buckmaster (pitcher) were named to the league’s second team. Kalyn Huckaby (infield) was selected honorable mention.
Fernley, meanwhile, was led by Olson and Cheyenne Brewer (infield) as first-team selections to all-state and the league.
Kelsie Callahan (infield), Bailey Henderson (outfield), Taylor Hires-Caulk (infield)and Taelyne Phillips (pitcher) were named to the North’s second team, while Haley Mull and Mercedes Rothwell were honorable mention.
