A 57-year-old Nevada inmate has died at the state prison in Carson City.

The Nevada Department of Corrections said in a statement Monday that Kirt Robinson died of a medical condition on Saturday at the regional medical facility at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center.

The department says Robinson had been at the prison since July 2013 after he was convicted in Washoe County of driving under the influence. He had been sentenced to serve between 28 months and six years in prison.

The Carson City Coroner’s office responded to the medical emergency and will conduct an autopsy.
