USDA is partnering with Friends in Service Helping to offer a monthly food distribution to low income individuals and families in the Carson area. Volunteers are needed every third Friday of the month from 8 to 11 a.m. to help with sign-ups and food distribution. The next distribution will be Nov. 21. Help keep our community fed and sign up today.

The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension is a vital community resource that helps our local community with solution based programs which are unique to each community need. The Carson City office is in need of a lunch time receptionist volunteer. Time slots are flexible and coffee and chocolate is kept on hand for volunteers.

Many home bound seniors, living independently in the community, face the challenges of isolation and experience difficultly with everyday tasks such as sorting mail, grocery shopping, and socialization. RSVP needs dedicated volunteers to help make a difference. Commitments and placements are extremely flexible.

All volunteers receive orientation and training. Also, volunteers can receive out of out-of-pocket expenses such as mileage reimbursement and are covered by several insurances. To volunteer, or if you are a not for profit agency and would like us to feature your need for volunteers, call Lauren at 775-687-4680 x6.
