Max Paul Augustine

Max Paul Augustine, age 92, passed away with loving family by his side. He is survived by three sons, Daniel, Dale, Davey, 13 grandchildren, 27 greatgrandhildren and 7 great great grandchildren. He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and raised in Bridgeport. He moved to denver in his early teens. He joined the Navy at age 17 with the permission of his parents, Lottie and Paul Augustine. He joined to see the world. He was assigned as Gunner CV2 on the U.S.S. Lexington Aircraft Carrier. On May 8, 1942, he was in the battle of Coral Sea. The ship went down, and he became wounded. He recieved a purple heart. On Oct. 5, 2012, he was a participant in the Honor Flight. He is always loved and will be greatly missed.
