Emil Chris Rabe, a third generation Nevada resident, passed away on October 15, 2014 at his home in Dayton Nevada leaving his wife Milagrpsi of 18 years , a stepson Emmanuel and two granddaughters , Eanna and Eliza . And his sister Evelyn Rabe Bird of Carson City, and a brother in law Alan and Lucy Shaw of Carson City, and many nieces and nephews. He was 85. Emil was born on March 7, 1929 in Carson City , Nevada, the son of Henry and Christina Wolfshorndl Rabe . His mother Christina immigrated from Czechoslovakia when she was about 16 years old . Emil grow up and attended schools in Carson City, Nevada and worked on the family ranch which was located on the Carson river at the end of 5th street in Carson city. He completed a two year tour of duty in the United States army and was stationed in Korea at the end of the Korean war. Upon his discharge from the army, Emil returned to Carson City and continued working on the family ranch. He was also a good welder and later worked for Capital sanitation for many years , and then went to work for the City of Carson city for 20 year. Emil moved to Dayton in the 1970’s Emil was a member of the kit Carson riding club in Carson city , and Emil was also a Mustanger in those days. Emil enjoyed entertaining friends at his home playing pinochle , and cribbage . He enjoyed using his dutch oven and feeding all his friends. In his later years he enjoyed making blankets for his family and friends out of yarn blocks just like making a quilt. Emil was predeceased in death by his parents and his brothers, Donald, Norman, Paul and Victor Rabe. Services well be held at Autumn Funerals & Cremations 1575 n. Lompa Lane Carson City . Nevada. Oct.25th at 11am. Emil’s motto to everyone was to enjoy today. we will miss you.
