Stronger Economies Together Energy Group, in cooperation with the Governor’s Office of Energy, is seeking video entries that are made by high school students and highlight clean energy projects. Advance registration is requested by Friday with YouTube video submissions due Oct. 17.

The contest is open to all high school students, working individually or in teams, in grades 8-11 as of May of this year in the following counties: Carson City, Storey, Churchill, Lyon, Douglas, Pershing, Mineral, Humboldt, and rural Washoe County.

Categories include: 1. Residential; 2. Agriculture; 3. Industrial; 4. Small Commercial; and 5. Government and Municipalities. A $1,000 prize will be awarded to the winner of each of the five categories.

Students are asked to gear videos for the primary target audience — an investor looking to bring a business and jobs to the community and share with the audience how the community can support jobs in the field of clean energy. Videos should provide all the pertinent details and should not be more than 5 minutes.

To submit intent to participate, email full name, project name, location and brief summary to markh@technical-designs.com by Friday. Upload videos to YouTube and email the link to: markh@technical-designs.comby by Oct. 17.

SET Energy Group is available to coordinate any resources necessary to produce the projects. Participants and projects will be posted on the Facebook group page. Internships will be available in the areas of engineering, media and accounting for winning participants.

Winners will be announced on Nevada Day and will be hosted on the SET Energy Workgroup Facebook page. For more information, go to http://www.unce.unr.edu/programs/sites/set/ or https://www.facebook.com/groups/713270348686431/, or call 775-784-7070.
