Six deputies involved in a fatal shooting on Thursday have been identified by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Sgt. Dan Coverly, Sgt. Dave Stanley, Investigator Jon Storke, Deputy Jeff Johnsen, Deputy Matt Saylo and Deputy Justin Williams are on administrative leave while the Carson City Sheriff’s Office conducts its investigation.

The deputies were placed on leave after the shooting death of Mark Perkins, 48, who allegedly pointed two weapons at them during a confrontation at Perkins’ Monument Peak home 5:30 p.m.

Deputies were at Perkins’ home to serve an arrest warrant after he pointed a firearm at his wife, according to court documents filed with East Fork Justice Court.

Perkins also allegedly threatened to shoot a neighbor and a police officer, according to Undersheriff Paul Howell.
