Carson City’s Reminiscing with the Rockin’ Rev airing Saturday

Reminiscing with the Rockin’ Rev, Carson City’s Ken Haskin’s weekly radio show, will feature The Collins Kids and Earl Lewis of the Channels from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday on AM 1180 KCKQ.

The Collins Kids recorded for Columbia Records and appeared as regulars on “Town Hall Party.” “Town Hall Party” ran from early 1952 to Jan. 14, 1961, and was broadcast live over KTTV, Channel 13, in Los Angeles, Calif. Earl Lewis recorded many doo wop classics, but he’s best known for “The Closer You Are.”

Saturday’s program, also available at www.americamatters.us, will also feature four hours of music. This week’s theme is “The Kiddie Groups and Fabulous Falsettos.”
