Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Two arrested on suspicion felony possession of a stolen firearm

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

THURSDAY

At 1:30 p.m., Miguel Aceves, 20, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of two counts of felony grand larceny of a vehicle after deputies received reports of multiple vehicle thefts near the 400 block of Winnie Lane. Bail was set at $25,000.

At 7:12 p.m., a 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of no valid driver’s license, no proof of insurance, speeding 16-20 over and contempt of court warrant after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Fairview Drive and 5th Street. Bail was set at $1,265.

At 8:30 p.m., a 53-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of battery near the 2400 block of Carson Street. Bail was set at $1,000.

At 9 p.m., Stella Maldonado, 38, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony maintaining a drug house, felony possession for sales, felony possession of firearm by prohibited persons, felony possession of marijuana greater than more than one ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies responded to reports of residents smelling marijuana near the 1700 block of Edmonds Drive. Bail was set at $51,000.

At 10:13 p.m., Christopher Jones, 34, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, ex-felon failed to register, failure to stop at a stop sign and riding a bicycle on the wrong side of the road after deputies observed a man riding a bicycle without lighting equipment. Bail was set at $3,715.

FRIDAY

At 2:25 a.m., Timothy Cave, 24, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony ex-felon in possession of a firearm and felony possession of a stolen firearm and Jennifer Zamarripa, 36, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a stolen firearm after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Desatoya Drive and Airport Road. Bail for Cave was set at $45,000 and bail for Zamarripa was set at $25,000.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
