Gavin (Gabe) Hoelzel, 92, a former resident of Carson City, passed away Aug. 2 in Park Meadows Assisted Living, Overland Park, KS. He leaves many friends from the Carson Valley area including Masons, Shriners, Kiwanis, Walmart employees and neighbors. He is survived by Luella, his wife of 69 years, and three daughters, Shirley Proctor of Schertz, TX, Marsha Hoelzel of South Pekin, IL, and Judy Gunsten of Minden, NV, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held September 9, 2015, at the Congregational Christian Church, South Pekin, IL.
