Capital City Community Band’s annual A Swingin’ Holiday concert at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Bob Boldrick Theater in the Carson City Community Center will offer holiday favorites and marches and pay tribute to the armed forces and one of America’s best known crooners. The performance, under the direction of founder and director Richard Doede, also will feature a choir.

The band was founded in 1978 by Doede as a venue for former students to continue to enjoy making music after high school. Members range from in age from 13 to 90 and encompass a variety of experience, from casual musicians to professionals. All musicians, including the director, are volunteers, and all concerts are free. For more information, call Doede at 775-883-2219, or go to www.cccb.weebly.com.
