Firefighters work to put out a fire at a house on Fifth Street Thursday.
The Carson City Fire Department responded to a house fire around 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
The house, located on the 700 block of W. 5th Street, was reportedly empty at the time of the fire, though some residents believed a pet may have been inside.
Crews were on scene for nearly an hour fighting the fire before getting it extinguished.
The St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School was evacuated due to its proximity of the house fire.
No injuries have been reported and fire crews are still investigating.
