The Rockin’ Rev will interview music legends Ace Cannon and Duane Eddy on Reminiscing with the Rockin’ Rev, a weekly radio program that can be heard from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturdays on AM 1180 KCKQ or at www.americamatters.us.
The theme of Saturday’s program is “Instrumental Instrumentals,” highlighting great instrumentalists from the golden age of rock and roll.
At 3 p.m., the Rockin’ Rev will interview saxophonist Ace Cannon, who formerly played with the Bill Black Combo, the house band for Hi Records in Memphis. Cannon enjoyed five charted singles as a solo artist. His biggest hit, “Tuff,” was released in December 1961. At 5 p.m., the Rockin’ Rev will interview Duane Eddy, a top rock and roll instrumentalist who enjoyed 28 charted singles. His hits include “Rebel-Rouser,” “Forty Miles of Bad Road” and “Because They’re Young.”
