The Greenwave boys basketball team had a rough time over the pass as it dropped all three games in the Oak Ridge Trojan Toss-Up.

Fallon (3-8) opened with a 70-25 loss to Vista del Lago (Folsom, Calif.) on Monday before coming back with its best game of the tournament on Tuesday. Shasta (Redding, Calif.) defeated the Greenwave, 45-27. Fallon ended the tournament with a 64-29 loss to Franklin (Elk Grove, Calif.) on Wednesday.

In Monday’s opening loss to Vista de Lago, the California school jumped out to a 22-8 lead in the first quarter before piling on 18 more points to take a 40-17 lead at halftime. Fallon couldn’t score past single digits in any quarter as it managed four points in each of the third and fourth frames.

Dylan Ridenour led Fallon in scoring with six points, and Connor Richardson and Craig Smith each had four.

Like Monday’s game, Tuesday’s matchup didn’t start well as Shasta opened with a 17-8 run in the first quarter. Fallon’s three points in the second quarter increased to deficit at halftime to 24-11 but the Greenwave battled strong in the second half. Fallon was only outscored 21-16 in the second half.

Ridenour powered Fallon with six points while Dalton Kaady nailed a 3-pointer to finish with five. Mo Coverston, Taylon Cordes, Tomas Diaz, Braxton Hunter and Richardson each had two points.

In the finale against Franklin, the second quarter was the problem child for the Greenwave.

After keeping the game close in the first quarter (14-7), Fallon saw the Wildcats pile on 20 points in the second frame to take a 34-13 lead at halftime. Fallon scored in double digits in the third quarter for the first time in the tournament but Franklin outscored Fallon, 30-16, in the second half.

The Greenwave returns to league play on Saturday when they travel to South Tahoe for a 2:30 p.m. tipoff.
