Society of Women Engineers will teach a free engineering class that encourages innovation and problem solving in children 5-15 from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Silver City’s Community Center, 385 High St.

The activity is part of a free summer-long program whose upcoming events include a science program with Jim Barcellos of UNCE, and lessons about poetry, art, and music with visiting artist Brian Schorn.

Every summer Silver City organizes a free science, technology, engineering, arts and math program for local children and their parents.
