Carson City Court Appointed Special Advocates hosting volunteer training June 21

Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA, at 1529 E. Fifth St., is hosting a volunteer training at 2 p.m. June 21

CASA’s Child’s Journey Home Foster Family Support and Recruitment Coalition’s next meeting is at 3:30 p.m. June 17 at the same location.

CASA volunteers are appointed by the Carson City Juvenile Court to serve as guardian ad litem for a case of abused or neglected children in a child welfare court case. A background check, references, application, interview and 30 hours of training are required.
