Churchill commissioners meet Thursday

The first County Commission meeting of July will be conducted Thursday at 8:15 a.m. at the Churchill County Administration Building chambers, 155 N. Taylor St.

Among the items commissioners will discuss and that are up for possible action include the following:

Consideration and possible action regarding receipt of CMAR rankings from review panel and approval to proceed with negotiations with highest ranked applicant for the Churchill County Adult Detention Facility.

Consideration and possible action regarding appointment of Dr. Tedd McDonald as the Churchill County Health Officer and approval of the contract with McDonald to fulfill those duties.

Consideration and possible action regarding approval of agreement with the State of Nevada Housing Division for Tenant Based Rental Assistance Funding.

Consideration and possible action regarding review and approve the Churchill County Debt Management Policy.

Consideration and possible action regarding application for community support funding for the Fallon Ranch Hand Rodeo.

Consideration and possible action regarding resolution No. 19-2015, recognizing the changes made by the Nevada Legislature to salaries of elected county officials through SB482 and adjusting the salaries of the Justice of the Peace and Captains of the Sheriffs Department to be commensurate with those legislative changes.

Consideration and possible action regarding presentation of the 2016 work program and fiscal years 2016-2019 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) process and request for approval of the same.

Consideration and possible action regarding resolution 18-2015 certifying the combined tax rate for the levy of taxes beginning July 15, 2015 and designating the number of cents of each one hundred dollars of property levy for each fund within the provisions of Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 361.460.

Consideration and possible action regarding increase of NV Energy’s franchise fee to make the fee consistent with the fees set for a public utility business license.

Consideration and possible action regarding update on Pontifex Classification and Compensation study finalization and proposed implementation.

Consideration and possible action regarding budget transfer no. 02-FY 15.

Consideration and possible action regarding Governor’s 60-Day Consistency Review of the Nevada and Northeastern California Greater Sage-Grouse Proposed Land Use Plan Amendment and final Environmental Impact Statement.

Consideration and possible action regarding appointment of two members to the Churchill County Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife.

Consideration and possible action regarding appointment of member to the Churchill County Sending Site Review Committee.

Consideration and possible action regarding action to approve increase of petty cash from $60 to $77.90 for the Public Library Petty Cash Account.

Consideration and possible action regarding request for transfer of funds to the city of Fallon as the first and final payment for the Historic Downtown Fallon and Museum Signage Improvement project.

Consideration and possible action regarding notification of the filing of an appeal by Gregory Anderson related to the Planning Commission’s decision to issue a special use permit to Shaughnan Hughes to operate an Internet firearm sales business under a Federal Firearms License at 5420 Caleb Drive (APN: 008-174-22), in Fallon, Churchill County and to set a public hearing on the appeal.

Consideration and possible action regarding agreement with architect Frank Woodliff, AlA, for professional design services in connection with the proposed Senior Center.

Consideration and possible action regarding notification of fiscal year 2015 federal payment in Lieu of Taxes and apportionment to the various funds.
