Carson City Sheriff’s Log: Man arrested on suspicion of discharging a weapon

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

TUESDAY

• At 10:38 a.m., a 22-year-old was arrested on suspicion of discharging a weapon potentially endangering people or property after deputies responded to reports of someone firing a gun in the 1500 block of North Edmonds. He reportedly told the arresting officer he was “being stupid” and simply fired the weapon twice in the air, not at a person or structure. Bail was set at $2,500. He was also charged with obstructing an officer, which added another $300 bail. In addition, two women were arrested in the incident, one 46-year-old on an obstructing charge with bail at $300 and a 19-year-old for allegedly violating suspended sentence conditions. Another 25-year-old was also arrested on a warrant charging contempt. Finally, Russell James, 41, was held on warrants charging contempt and failure to appear on a charge of drug possession. He was held without bail.

WEDNESDAY

• At 2:55 a.m., Armando Bernal, 35, was arrested on a felony charge he violated parole conditions. Deputies were told he was in the Blue Bull bar bragging about being on parole and running from police. He was ordered held without bail.
