A co-working space kickoff featuring entrepreneurial education sessions and guest speakers will be held Friday at the Old Post Office.
The event, sponsored by the city of Fallon, will be conducted from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and features speakers Gov. Brian Sandoval and Fallon Mayor Ken Tedford.
Interested individuals must RSVP to the city of Fallon no later than today to cityoffallon@gmail.com.
The program’s goal is to introduce the Young Entrepreneurs Collective, a group bringing business owners and entrepreneurs together to collaborate on projects benefiting the community and entire entrepreneurial ecosystem.
“Small businesses and entrepreneurs continue to be the core strength of our economy,” said Andrea Schell, Fallon YEC co-founder. “The city of Fallon recognizes that our community needs this resource and has helped create an avenue for entrepreneurial success.”
In addition to the governor and mayor, Tedford said other presentations will come from the Nevada Small Business Development Center, Startup Week, Battle Born Venture Fund, Bristlecone Holdings and a panel of entrepreneurs.
Tedford said the city is joining together in a collaboration to benefit the community, local business owners and the entire entrepreneurial ecosystem.
This group is also spearheading a planned collaborative working space funded by the city above the Old Post Office. This new co-working space both supports the small businesses that are the backbone of the city and also sparks a new round of business growth in the community. By providing an affordable, collaborative office space, the city aims to foster the growth of the local entrepreneurial community.
The Fallon YEC creates awareness for all activities and funding opportunities for young business owners by working with local non-profits, businesses and stakeholders.
