Fighting through cold and blustery conditions, Fallon’s trio of state golfers battled at the Division I-A state tournament in Truckee.

Senior Corbin Waite finished 25th overall with a two-day total of 175 after an 88 on Monday and 87 on Tuesday. The first round was at Old Greenwod Golf Course and Tuesday’s action was at The Golf Club at Gray’s Crossing.

Sophomore Raymond Plasse, meanwhile, carded a 177 (88 and 89) to finish 28th, while freshman Kelvin Cann took 38th with a 194 (90 and 104).

Fernley’s Justin Akerson finished with a 167 (77 and 90) and finished 13th overall.

Austen Ancell of Pahrump Valley was the individual medalist with a two-day total of 150, shooting an opening round 73 followed by a 77.

Faith Lutheran took the team title with a score of 811 followed by Elko (870), Boulder City (877), Pahrump Valley (904), Truckee (907) and Spring Creek (911).
