Three area acts — one country, another blues and the third bluegrass — are taking center stage this weekend at the Brewery Arts Center.

Country sounds from Nashville, Tenn., will be brought by Southern Drawl Band today.

The southern band has toured the United States since it formed in 2012. The show is at 7 p.m. in the Brewery Arts Center’s Performance Hall, 511 W. King St.

Tickets are available for $20 for general admission; $18 for seniors and $15 for Brewery Arts Center. BAC members pay $25 at the door.

Blues music by longtime Kings Beach resident Peter Joseph Burtt will be at 7 p.m. Friday in the Brewery Arts Center’s Performance Hall.

Peter Joseph Burtt is a lifelong drummer and singer/songwriter. His music draws from many sources to inform his music and chronicle the years he spent living and studying with master musicians of Africa. His local band the King Tide helps bridge these influences back home.

Burtt, whose songs receive national radio airplay, has toured extensively and recorded with award winning artists. He has taught songwriting, percussion, and guitar at festivals and workshops with many top musicians and instructors.

Tickets cost $20 for general admission; $18 for seniors and $15 for BAC members. Tickets at the door cost $25 per person.

The Brewery Arts Center’s Bluegrass and Strings series will present The Back Forty, at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Maize Harris Jesse Black Box Theater.

The Back Forty Band began in 1992 as a simple jam group that soon found themselves playing for various local and out of town events. Its vocals with that high lonesome sound and instrumental harmonies brings a crowd pleasing response. Vicki Hass on fiddle, Joseph Martini on his five-string banjo and Norris Schultz on bass are from Carson City. Two other members, Charlie Edsall on guitar and Ron Warren on mandolin, are from Sparks.

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $9 for seniors, $8 for BAC members and $15 at the door.
