The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on someone who may have stabbed two people Sunday night.

Deputies responded to reports of a stabbing at the Carson Street Best Value Motel around midnight where they found a 52-year-old man with at least five wounds to his upper body, face and neck. He was then transported to Renown Regional Medical Center for his injuries, including a collapsed lung.

A second man was found a short time later by deputies near the Highway 50 SaveMart for multiple stab wounds on his neck, arms and chest. He was treated and released by the Carson City Fire Department. It was determined that the second man was involved in the same stabbing as the first man, though neither would tell detectives who attacked them.

The two victims were not cooperative when detectives tried to interview them about the incident, but the most they would tell detectives was that it was several Hispanic men. The second man said that he got stabbed because he was defending his friend.

Detectives believe the incident may have occurred near the Max Casino and Nevada Street.

The incident is under investigation and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Detective Sam Hatley at 775-283-7852.
