The Carson City Fire Department and Firefighters Association are teaming up to initiate Operation Warm for the kids of Carson City.

Operation Warm is a fundraiser to collect monetary donations to purchase brand new winter coats for Carson City children living in unfortunate circumstances.

The two organizations are going through the Carson City School District to find students who are in need of the coats. Their goal is to raise at least $6,800 to provide about 250 students with winter coats.

The drive will go until Nov. 20, so the firefighters can provide the coats to students before the first of December.

To donate, visit www.operationwarm.org/carsoncity or drop off checks made payable to the Carson City Firefighters Association to the Stewart Street fire station.
