Carson City’s Board of Supervisors is seeking applicants for positions on the Regional Transportation Commission and the Audit Committee.

Volunteers interested in serving may apply for two posts on the transport commission and two more on the audit panel.

Applications for the former will be accepted until Nov. 19. The commission (RTC) is the policy making body on transportation issues within Carson City. Its purpose is to establish priorities and recommend appropriate funding for pertinent transport improvements. RTC members also serve on the Carson Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) board, which includes representatives handling transport for the city and parts of Douglas and Lyon counties.

The commission and CAMPO meet afternoons on the second Wednesday of each month. Estimated time to serve is 10 hours monthly.

Citizen-at-large positions open on the Audit Committee require applications by Dec. 3, according to city government. The audit panel provides oversight of auditing functions, both internal and external, during meetings held quarterly. Estimated service time is three hours monthly.

To apply or seek information on any position, people may contact Carson City Executive Offices at 201 N. Carson St., Suite 2, call (775) 887-2100, email rporcari@carson.org or check the web page at www.carson.org/volunteer.
